Visiting Callum

We are well overdue with updating guidelines for visiting Callum.  The situation has been fast changing and rather confusing, to say the least, but guidelines are looking stable now, until the autumn anyway.

But official guidelines are one thing; Callum is a vulnerable adult, even though he has been doubly vaccinated.  And we all know that you can still contract Covid after vaccination.

Bearing the above in mind, we ask you to stick to the following:

  • A max of 4 people visiting at one time.  This is partly Covid related, but also because Cal will be able to enjoy the time with you more easily if his focus isn’t being divided in too many directions
  • Wash hands on arrival in the cloakroom
  • Hugging is fine
  • No masks are necessary but continue with social distancing
  • Being outside is best, of course, weather permitting
  • Kids are fine to come with their mum and/or dad.  But because of the high transmissibility, please no hugging from little ones
  • Generally, 2 hours max for a visit.  Ask Pete or Sue if you would like anything different
  • No smoking or vaping in the house or garden
  • Please don’t bring alcohol as Callum is on strong anti-seizure medication and can’t partake.  Alcohol free drinks are fine, of course
  • As before, please arrange visiting through Pete or myself, so we can alert the carer and let Callum know.  Also give us at least a couple of days’ notice, if possible. Increasingly, he has commitments during the week to do with physio and therapy, let alone mealtimes, which we need to work around.

Thank you! -And look forward to hearing from you via Messenger/WhatsApp/text.
