Yesterday as the sedation and strong drugs wore off, Callum was able to squeeze both mine and my mum’s hand, which was amazing, and so encouraging!
Callum received a planned tracheotomy this morning, which inserted a small valve in his throat to which the ventilator that’s been supporting his breathing is attached. This all went according to plan but meant additional sedation was required meaning a further wait before we’ll hopefully see more signs of him coming back to us. All steps in the right direction.
